Alongside the caves of Matala or Komos Beach, ‘The Meeting Place’ and the village square of Pitsidia are probably among the main reasons why people have enjoyed spending their holidays here for decades.
Meeting Place
The Meeting Place and the village square in the heart of Upper Pitsidia have a long tradition as a meeting place for both locals and tourists – it’s hard to imagine a more relaxed atmosphere.
Greek dance evenings still take place sometimes, and regularly in summer – when there are also weekly rock and roll cover bands that get the whole square going.
Can get late
The menu offers a selection of traditional dishes such as pastitzio and moussaka, as well as fresh food from the grill every day. The staff are also top-notch in this generation.
The name says it all: the first backpackers from the 1970s, overseas tourists, families whose children run around the houses with the locals, early-retired student councillors and adventure-oriented young hippies meet here to warm up for Kantifes or Matala.
It may get late. But never wrong.
