Manolis Taverna in Pitsidia

The third generation

Manolis Taverna

While the Meeting Place and Pitsidia Boulevard are buzzing with life, traditional Greek cuisine is at home in downtown Pitsidia, for example in the ‘Manolis Taverna’.

Here on Matala Road, diagonally opposite Pitsidia’s largest supermarket, Manolis Hamalakis has been running his taverna for three years and is already the third generation to do so. Manolis’ grandfather, Yannis Hamalakis, opened the taverna back in the early 1970s with – of course – Cretan cuisine. His son Fragiskos continued to run the taverna, and now it’s Manolis’ turn.

Manolis Taverna offers many lovely tables and the choice of dishes is impressive. Manolis is a very friendly and communicative person who, like his ancestors, grew up in the neighbouring house.

Everything is pure, everything is authentic – give it a try!
